The route offers you an exciting challenge with 115 km and 1,630 m of climbing. You’ll experience all kinds of landscapes, starting from Barbasquillo toward the boardwalk and into the majestic nature of the Pacoche forest, before joining the coastal Spondylus Route. At this point, you will take the turnaround. The race features a Category 2 climb, 7.6 km long with an average gradient of 5%, called El Aromo, where the attacks will begin and the King of the Mountain competition will also get underway. Afterwards, you’ll face a steep descent with stunning views of the San Mateo coast, before reaching the city of Manta, where you’ll enjoy the speed, the cheers, and the support of the fans who will line the course of this beautiful race.
The medium route, at 62 km, is just as challenging as the long course but with less climbing. With an elevation gain of 728 m, you’ll ride the same circuit. It starts from the Wyndham Hotel, passing along the beautiful Manta boardwalk and into the majestic nature of the Pacoche forest. At this point, you’ll take the turnaround and then face a steep descent with breathtaking views of the San Mateo coast, before reaching the finish line located at the Wyndham Manta Hotel.
LONG COURSE IS A COMPETITION: Only the finishers of the long course are eligible for category rankings and Overall and Podium awards. If you want to race and be ranked in your category, you must complete the long course. Top 10% of finishers in each age group earn a spot in the Qualifier Corral at every GFNY World event.
MEDIUM COURSE IS NOT A COMPETITION: The riders of the 50 miles medium course will be provided their start-to-finish time, but will not be ranked by finish time. All finish times will be listed in alphabetical order.
